Story View Count

Story View Count

When a story is viewed by a parent (guest) user the view will be automatically recorded and displayed on the educators ‘Learning Story Page’ and on the dashboard for the ‘Latest Stories’ as a view count.  See the image below for the view count.

story count

The view count will only be shown for stories which are Public and Published.  If the story is Private and Published the view count will not be shown at all.

The view count is only shown to educators and not to parents (guests).

The view count will only increase by one (1) for each view by a parent (guest) user, so looking at your own or other educator stories will not affect the view count.

TIP: If you are publishing stories but the view count is low, reviewing the engagement of your centre users may assist in increasing views to published stories. Take a look at this article about the engagement page.
